The advantage of the elements of the stay-in-place system of forms “Dobeles Panelis” is the most vividly manifested by the low labor-intensity needed in erecting and reinforcing the system of forms as well as by their small weight (approximately 10 kg/m2). The system of forms for the foundation is manufactured from two sheets of foam polystyrene and a steel reinforcement bars frame which ensures a very high reliability. Such system of forms can be erected easily and very rapidly.

The system of forms is manufactured in the standard length (usually 1200 mm) and height (in accordance with the definite project). For instance, for the foundations, the height of the system of forms could be 1.30 m but for the basement walls-2.50 m. The system of forms for the storey height are erected and fixed using ordinary boards or the telescopic props (see The Erection Manual).

Using the system “Dobeles Panelis” in building foundations or basements, an already heat insulated construction is obtained. As the panels are very light, one to two workers can move them around the building site and erect them. The concrete filling can be done using the traditional methods: for small foundations- preparing the concrete in the agitator on the site and manually filling the carcass blocks, for larger sizes- it is convenient to use the ready-mixed concrete.
